〔一回転〕 a turn; 〔一変〕 a complete change; an about-face.

～する 〔ひと回りする〕 spin around; tumble over; 〔一変する〕 make a complete [sudden] change.

●内戦が勃発し平和な日々は一転した. A civil war broke out, and the days of tranquillity came to an abrupt end.

・その話を持ち出すと, 彼の態度は一転し, 急にそっけなくなった. When I brought up that matter his attitude suddenly changed, and he became very brusque with me.

・前日までの供述とは一転して, 彼は無罪を主張し始めた. In an about-face from the day before, he began to insist on his innocence.

・そこで舞台は一転し, にぎやかな祭りの場面となった. At that point the stage was transformed into a lively festival scene.

・彼女は態度を一転二転させた. She kept changing her attitude.

●天候は夕方になって一転, 大雪となった. In the evening the weather took a sudden turn and there was a heavy snowfall.
